My brakes are in need of replacement so was wondering about fitting some non-Ford 'performance' 258mm discs & pads.

Which are the best to go for? I've heard EBC are good but I'm none the wiser as I've never used anything other than standard parts. Are they an easy DIY job to replace? I've changed them before on my old Golf so do have some experience doing it before.

If you really fancy some super stoppers while keeping the standard 15" Propellor wheels or similar, a few on www.pumapeople.com have fitted 278mm Mk1 Mondeo V6 set-ups. Modified Hub bolt size (enlarge) and then bolt on. Good old Ford and modular design...

If you have the later 258mm brake set-up then uprated disks/pads is about the only option you have. Changing them is a doddle, but if you want information then buy a Mk4 Fiesta haynes manual as they are one and the same set-up and procedure.

I read about the 278mm set-up. Very tempting but I'm not confident about drilling into the hubs so was going to fit uprated discs and pads instead, unless drilling into the hubs is a simple job that is scratchchin
