Sounds like exactly the sort of symptoms you'd get from shot HT leads. I'd probably expect them to last a little longer that 3 years, but it's worth checking them....
You can get ECU codes on the digital dash readout by holding the reset button in while turning to ignition phase 2. Then get google to tell you what they mean.
