Ford Focus - Not Firing on All Cylinders - HELP!!
Discussion
Hi,
After a problem free driving back from work (in the rain), my car was left to stand for an hour. I re-started the car to travel to the shops however it appeared to be misfiring and not running on all the cylinders (thought it was just damp?).
I called the RAC and the mechanic changed the coil, however this did not cure the problem? He then did a number of tests and told me only half the coil was firing and the ECU was stuffed - Has anyone else experienced this? I have reciently changed the plugs and leads so its not likely to be this? HELP!!

No worries matey i hope it doesnt cost you too much.
It shouldn't, he said he has gone non-Ford Sorry, head hung, couldn't resist. I got a quote on some brakes for my car the other day and then asked for the Privledge price afterwards. 45% mark up without Privledge had me reeling a bit !!
No offence taken dont worry,i run a Service Dept with a monthly minimum overhead of £50,000 i wish i could charge the prices of my two to three ramp rivals but i can't compete, having 38 staff just in service is an expensive business. As for parts prices, well we dont really get much say on that.
Not sure on pcm prices but you may be able to get hold of a used part though reconfiguring it can be a pain.
