No recommendation but avoid Dovercourt in Chelmsford - they crashed one of my previous cars when it was in for a service.

I give them now to a trusted friend & ex Ford mechanic, much better and cheaper!!

I always use Rates in Grays. Seem to do a good job to me. Better than the one is Basildon!

RT Rates www.rates.co.uk/ in Grays.

I've had fantastic service from them.

Hey we both use the same dealer!
Rates seem to go that extra mile when servicing your car, unlike some other dealers.

yes Used several Ford dealers for my varies Blue Oval cars over the years, many of which I would never use again (PM for details)...

Rates are friendly, helpful and effecient. They even did nice little touches like greasing the bonnet and door catches - and even phoned me to say they wanted to change the anti-freeze mix... the cost? £3..!! eek

The ST ran better than it ever has done since it was serviced by them, they highlighted some possible areas of concern for the future, so that I can budget accordingly for the future.

Quite simply, they do EXACTLY what a dealer is supposed to do. Service the car to a good standard, contact you for any unforeseen charges, and even wash the car too.

I've only ever come across one other main dealer that did this - and that's the Skoda garage we use for the missus Fabia vRS.

Interesting...

From my experience I can't fault them.
