think of going mental with my puma, and im hugly tempted to drop a focus st170 engine on throttle bodies into it, just thoughts at the min, the other optiion is a turbo conversion on my current 1.7 VCT engine but im swaying towards the ST170 engine!

Wouldn't bother with ST170 engine, needs a lot of work to get minimum rewards, go for a RS engine and gearbox and then go crazy with it, should be the cheaper iption in the long run, or like you say go mental on the Puma engine.

I've heard good things of both Pumaspeed and Pumabuild, worth an email or phone call.

Focus RS engine is definitely the better option...............MUCH more tuneable than the ST170 lump.

Even with throttle bodies and something like Omex the most you could realistically hope for is about 260bhp and that's REALLY pushing the boat out on that lump

I know of a few lads with Focus RS's who are running 300bhp on relatively simple mods

FRS lump has been done before and offers much more tuning capability if you wanted to do so. Pumabuild are probs the best folks to speak to. Another alternative is a Cossie lump with 4WD.................THAT would suprise a lot of people and, again, it's been done before
