Type 9 Gear stick removal
Discussion
Hi,
I've got a ford type 9 in my MG and want to remove the gear stick to investigate the cause of it rattling like mad at motorway speed. Anyone have any ideas why this might be? - stops when you hold the gearstick firmly
Can't find anywhere on the net that explains the removal procedure and I don't have a Ford manual. Do you have to remove the plate on the gearbox that is held by the three star screws?
I think it's a quick shift lever if that's any help.
Thanks in advance.
Rob.

just undo the three torx bolts and pull it out - buy yourself a new lever from ford, there are no parts available any more to repair these but I think the complete levers are still available (if you know what it was from - capris stand upright, sierras lean back for instance)or get hold of demon tweeks (or someone similar)and get another quick shift one
