ford focus 18 tdi, light circuit problem

First posting any help from the technical bods would be appreciated, changed the rear number plate bulb with power to the lights, replacing the holder the bulb holder touched the tailgate and appeared to fuse the lights, checked the fuses and they seem ok all the other lights work eccept the number plate, side front lights and non drivers rear tail light.thanks in advance
