Classic Cortina?

Thinking about getting a Mk3, I admit this is partly a result of Life On Mars re-appearing on our screens making me hark back to the one my dad had when I was little.

Anyway, I have no experience of classic cars whatsoever and am wondering about the costs of running an old 'Tina? Am I right in thinking that it'll be a fair bit just to keep it running before I even think about insurance, fuel and such like?

Any comments or experiences greatly appreciated?
