Has anyone had problems with water entering passenger side footwell.
Think I've solved mine there's an intake for the heater underneath the n/s scuttle trim and if your trim is not fitted correctly water gets between the trim and windsreen then drips straight on top of the intake then through the heater fan and into the car thus making the whole of the passenger side carpet wet.
Not sure if the trim should have some sort of sealer onto the windsreen but this is what I'm going to do.

It's a common fault on the first shape Focus, trim between bulkhead and screen, when mine was still under warrenty Ford wern't interested, called Ford Customer Services and they could't sive a s**t either.

Moral of the story, unless your engine falls out on the motorway, "It isn't covered under warrenty"

Cost me £40 to sort and they made a right mess of it!

Moral of this story, do your own car maintenace when possible!

Exactly right Chris rang Fords today thought it would be covered under maybe body corrosion warranty but things like leaks only 12 months basically told him to f*** o** and do the job myself and get it right, cheers

Air intake? Are you talking about the pollen filter? If so then if that is fitted incorrectly then it WILL leak-don't blame Ford-blame the dealer/person who last replaced it!(if that is the area you are talking about)

Yes possibly there is a rectangular shaped filter that goes into a type of intake trim.

But i've just had another look at it and to be honest the scuttle trim just doesn't seem to fit perfectly enough, to stop water from getting in unless i use sealer to seal it onto the bottom of the screen.

That is the pollen filter-dealers seem incapable of fitting one correctly(maybe get some proper techs instead of spotty kids who should be flipping burgers). I bet that is your problem. Don't go sticking sealer down there as you dont need it. New filter fitted correctly and it should be fine. Pretty much all Fords have the same design down there.

Apology's Dave for having a go at Ford guys sometimes you want to lash out when you get no help from them.

Filter is fine, either the windscreen has been changed or they've changed the filter at some point but i wouldn't say it's changed that often the cars only done 26000.

My problem looks like as you say scuttle trims not fitted correctly ,i think the scuttle trims need to be attached to the bottom windscreen trim first you then fit the whole thing in one hit by locating it onto the windscreen and then putting the front screws in.

I tried putting them back on one at a time as you push down you can't get it to clip in because the screen trim moves ever so slightly thus doesn't sit correctly and you get a gap water then drips down onto the filter or in my case a river.

nebby - As ChrisRS has said above, its a very common problem on the mk1 focus. It can happen if the pollen filter becomes blocked and/or if the scuttle panel above this isn't re-fitted properly after changing the pollen filter.
(I had the same problem on my old focus and got a friend to re-seal it properly before it stopped leaking water into the footwell.)

Its also a very common problem on the mk3 Mondeo.

Have a look at this link.

IIRC filter is every 30K miles so more likely a windscreen fitter at fault. I'll kick my brother for you as this is his job!! ps,if it has a 'screen they are covered by three year warranty usually
