HAVE A MK 2 ESCORT HARRIER STILL ON 4 STAR ..WENT TO MY LOCAL 4 STAR GARAGE TODAY ..ALAS NO MORE DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST .................... FOUND ANOTHER GARAGE AND I WAS TOLD I COULD MIX LEADED AND UNLEADED HALF AND HALF WITH NO PROBLEMS ...ANY IDEAS IF THIS IS THE CASE ,,,,,,,,

As a temporary measure - but you can buy the lead replacement stuff in a bottle and just add it to unleaded petrol. I've used it myself on the old Sierra,( now sold) but I've totally forgotten the name of it - I've done a google on it.

still doesn't give you a brand name for the additive - but just go into any garage and ask them, they'll know

Tetraboost is an additive that gives you proper leaded petrol - they've got a website, you can get it mail order. IIRC it works out as about 12p per litre on top of the price of the petrol, although I imagine that's not a problem if you've been using proper 4 star anyway.
