i've got mk6 escort, which had a rear and bump a few months ago, since then the airbag light comes on randomly (normally after heavy breaking) is nthis telling me it thinks the airbag has been deployed and it needs refolding etc? or is it just one of those niggles that i've got to live with?

also one of the pins in the rear doors is stuck in so it doesn't latch when it is closed (although it locks when the car is locked) how difficult will it be to fix it and get the door open warning light off my dash?

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

Airbag light is often the loom under the seat... it's kicked by back seat passengers. Have a dig around and check the connectors.

As for the door pin... assuming we're talking about the same thing, spray some silicon stuff in there and pull it out with a small screwdriver. Alternatively get a new one, unscre the old one, swap them over and screw it back.

these flash out a code - count the flashes and post back - seat belt tensioners are a common loose connection point as said (four flashes)
