I just wanted to let everybody thinking about purchasing a ford focus what great build quality they are.

Saturday morning (10/02/07), driving to work, road was very wet, coming down a small hill and i notiched a fair amount of standing water. The next thing i knew i was skidding out of control one way then the other (trying to correct the slid). This was at about 65 mph. Next thing i knew i had lost total control and mounted a bank collecting a few shrubs, tree roots and a lot of mud. Then the car started to roll!! not a lot i could do. not once, twice, but 3 times it rolled over back on to the road. I finally came to a stop the right way up across the road. I stepped out of my focus without even a cut on me!

The car is a total write off. But at that speed and the severatity of the accident i should not have walked away from that acciedent. The police were shocked i was not even injured.

So if your considering buying a focus (mine was an 54 reg ST170) dont worry about the build quality or safety devices!

I was the luckiest bloke in the world saturday morning. That Focus saved my life!

Last year I had an incident in my Ka where I had to swerve onto a wet grass bank to avoid an oncoming car on my side of the road mad

Anyway, I ended up losing control, going very sideways and bashing a tree stump before sliding into a field. Although the Ka was a bit battered it lived to fight another day, unlike the tree stump which was pushed out of the ground!

I'd have got away without a scratch had I not ripped my trousers and slashed my knee on a thorny shrub as I tried to get out of the field...

pretty much any car will survive a roll. Its all about what happens when you hit something at speed which doesnt move (or if something at speed hits you).
