My beloved Fifi has been blowing out cold air for a few weeks now. Thinking it's the heater matrix with either the heater control valve, a blockage or general death of the matrix!!

With the help of Minimax and Nonegreen this week we are hoping to get it sorted as this really isn't the time of year for this malarkey!

Does anyone have any experience with accessing the heater matrix on a '99 Fiesta?? The Haynes Manual seems to suggest that the whole dash wont have to come out, which is good news.

I meant in the radiator bit.

Had a search of the threads but couldn't come up with much on this or how to access it. Then again the search function doesn't appear to be working again.

look at the thread a wee bit below about Ka heating, it's the same system on the fiesta

Plenty of reference to fiestas

You'll not need to take the matrix out, the water bypass valve is accessed from under the bonnet.

give me an email address or get me on msn and i'll send you some info

Man in the car parts place said he's sold 9 heater valves for fiestas this month...I bet it's that.

It did appear to be a leaky valve. Replaced and I now have heat in my car Will be keeping a close eye on my coolant levels for a while though.
