Fiesta Zetec-S clonking...

Any one on here got any suggestions as to the source of a loud clonking noise coming from the front end of a Fiesta Zetec-S? It happens over lower speed (30mph) bumpy roads, and it sounds as if something is loose. You can't feel it through the steering, but it sounds as if something big is loose.

Just wondering if it was something common?

Had a similar problem on my last Focus, turned out to be the stabilising bar between the front strut and anti-roll bar. Cost me about £15 to do both sides, simple diy job.

(Obviously can't say for sure but i think it's a common problem on recent Fords).

I would also be looking at the anti roll bar, either the links connecting it to the struts or the bushings supporting it on the subframe.

possible strut top noise too, but thats less common.
