Is it just me or is every ford dealership useless? i work in a garage myself but have been forced to go to ford regarding warranty issues with my focus rs and have been messed around so much its unreal. One minute they tell u yes its covered we will sort it, next minute they say its wear and tear and it aint covered its so fustrating ive been to both dealers local to me and they both say differant things and treat you with utter contempt.

I do know that if i treated my customers like ive been treated i wouldnt have any.

So if anyone knows of a good ford dealer in kent please share your knowledge as im fed up with banging my head against a brick wall.

oh and a dealer that doesnt need you to show them what the problem is as they couldnt find a problem with my third gear till i went up there and showed them (doesnt inspire confidence does it?) even after doing over 50 miles in my car (i dread to think) and then with a final answer that the reason it crunches when changing into third is cos im changing gear at to higher revs (anything above 4000rpm) and its abusing the gearbox !!!!!!!

no blame her for it.my advise would be to buy her an old ford escort to drive around in or get her a horse.

Third gear syncro has gone crunches in third, cars just gone past 50k only does it when changing at 4000 rpm + the dealer i took it to said that was 'normal' as it was abusing the car.

Obviously Bollox.

If the car is still in warranty (3 year 60K) then its a warranty job plain and simple. Take it to another dealer or write to Ford

I took mine in for a squeeky clutch, they said they couldn't replicate it and said I was driving it too hard. For one, it did it all the time and two, so what if I drove it hard, is that not what it is designed for ?!?!?

Anway, took mechanic out to car, told him to move it, he reversed out of space in a 'customer standing next to me' kind of way and screeeeechhhh....

I immediately leant in the window and enquired as to whether he was driving it too hard, which was met with silence....

Booked in for next day, new clutch fitted

And as for Ford dealers, basically (even though I have new Fords) because I don't buy them from their dealership, I am treated like a lepper !!!

Whenever I ring they ask if I got the car from them, so what if I didn't, it's a Ford, you are Ford, sort my car out as you should, geez....!!!

Hi

I will never let any Ford Dealership in Kent go near my RS.
I had problems with the alarm system on it a month or two back.

2 dealers called me a liar and said that the 2nd key fob was not standard Ford fitment.
3 Didn't have a clue what it was and couldn't help
1 manged to supply the the new key fob, but when i ask a simple question to the workshop like how do you program it to the car!!!! They were well out of their depth...

In the future i will do most work myself, but the car will either be sent to SCC, EA's or Puma Bulid because i don't trust anyone else to do a good job....

I must admit i had huge problems and very bad customer service with a Ford dealer in kent.I then tried SMC ford in Gravesend and they have been brilliant.I had items fixed under warranty with no problems and their customer service has been brilliant, especially a woman on the service desk who has been so helpfull and friendly.Really can not fault them.

Hi

I will never step foot inside SMC Gravesend, a young kid on the parts counter basicly called me a liar and when he couldn't work out what i wanted he wouldn't evan ring Fords to get the solution.....

Perhaps i have been very unlucky, but if Ford dealers want us to pay £90+ per hour for there services i would expect a better service from the rest of the dealer...

Sorry rant over LOL

Must admit i did have the same problem as you with the parts counter once when he couldnt find the part i wanted on his computer system.I offered to show him the part on my own car or any other car in the showroom that had it.Basically came down to computer says no.Did get there in the end though although it took another member of staff to sort it out.

Finally got result went to Haynes in maidstone spoke to their service manager (keith) really helpful guy within 15 mins of walking in there was out with one of their master techs who confirmed the problem and they have now submitted a warranty claim 4 me with Ford.

It is fustrating as i work in a garage myself and as a rule wont let anyone else anywhere near my own car but with warranty work u dont get much choice.
