Hi.
I have just bought a 2005 Mondeo Zetec but it does not have Traction Control. This was apparently only a £350 option, so I was wondering if it's possible to have it retro-fitted, as most cars have standard wiring looms. One site I found even suggested the whole ESP system was an option for the £350! I think it was an option with the ABS on earlier cars but mine is the midly facelifted model.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Got it on my Focus and it's useless, all it does it stop you getting out of busy junctions, i'd turn it off but it throws a stupid orange light up on the dash. The best form of traction control is driver ability!

I've heard this question asked a few times, the response seems to be 'not economically viable'.

I agree - it's possible but a right pain in the A and too dear to do

You have to ask - Is it worth it?

It was £350 at build stage because its cheaper at that point to add the nescessary part yaw sensor different abs unit sensors etc , aftermarket fitting really isnt worth the hassle , and abs has been a standard fit in the mk3 mondeo from the start along with EBD and brake assist .

now fords BTCS brake traction control system is truely pathetic , never seems to work on the puma and was like an interfearing busy body on my focus ghia , glad to be shot of the rubbish .

Thanks for your replies.
I had TC on a V-reg Mondeo Zetec and found it useful for getting onto wet roundabouts but that's about all. It was a case of 'use it because you know you've got it' so won't be a problem now I know I haven't got it.
Cheers to you all.
