Ka - Funny noise on idle - coasting etc..

My recently acquired (2001 Collection) Ka has a funny whirring noise coming from (i think) just behind the speedo.

There is no noise when accelerating - only when idling or easing of the throttle. The noise disappears if you put any strain on the engine (not neccessarily going faster though) It sounds like something revolving but I dont understand why it's not there all the time.

Any ideas??

None the wiser after looking through that site but some useful info on there. Thanks for that.

Still no further forward with my particular problem though. It's only a minor irritation so I'll not stress much about it.
