I was unlocked my car this morning, turned on the engine and the front and rear heated screens. then preceeded to reach for the ice scraper to clear the side windows. the centeral locking then took it upon itself to lock and unlock a few times. when scraping the windows i made sure to leave the door open so i didnt get locked out of my running car.
obviously this bothers me quite alot as i dont want to be locked out, but equally i dont want it to unlock itself either. this has happened both today and yesterday as i watched it happen. i have thought i have heard it before, when approaching my car but always dismissed it.
has anyone else had a similar fault? in not sure if it is something like the key playing up, which i doubt or maybe a relay? personally i favor a damaged relay as this would explain why it after about the first 10 seconds it didnt happen again. or maybe a slightly poor earth on that particular part of the circuit.
any help welcome!

Exact same thing happened on my Focus too. Happens when I open the doors and don't close them straight away. It kind locks then unlocks straight away. I;ve also noticed it only happens whens its bleeding cold outside. I'm sorry but I have no explanation for why this happens.

yes, it seems to be linked to the cold rather like the ICV problem i have. but if the temp is above about 3 degrees both seem fine.
