Hi,

I have a Fiesta Mark 5. Looks like the latest one without the horrid lights? Think it's a mark 5.

anyway I have a speed camera locator, the Snooper Sapphire. It goes with a hard wiring in lead as well as the 12V car adapter. I was wondering how hard it is to wire this in to the electrics?

Does it take long?
What's evolved (taking the dash off)?
Wire it straight into the battery or into something else using the battery?

Hi, best thing is to connect it to something that is switched on/off by the ignition. Personally i'd connect it to the Stereo, find the ignition fed live in your stereo wiring loom and connect it via a in-line fuse, if it all goes pete tong the worst that can happen is you blow the fuse. Then just connect the earth to a near-by earth point. Have a look at the 12v adaptor to find the fuse rating and a Haynes manual for the wiring diagram for the stereo.

Hi

Should just be a case of taking the stereo out (Do you have the model number handy?). You may have to lay in the footwells on your back to feed the wire for the Snooper up to the stereo. All depends where you intend to mount the unit as you need to consider where you want to route the cable to make the neatest job.

Well it's GPS based so obviously need to be able to see the sky. So it's mounted on the windscreen (suction pad mount), can you easily run a cable down the back of the dash, near the front defogging vents are or is this sealed up tight normally?

Might be an option, otherwise tuck the wire tightly between the screen and the dash and down the side of the dash in the door recess, will be out of sight and doesn't cause any damage.
