whats that thing on my carbureter

hi ppl im new to piston heads, i was wondering if any 1 cud tell me what the little black plastic screw thing onthe top of my carbureter is it starts up first time and used to idle really well but now its idlein realy low i drive an Lreg 1.1i ford fiesta and any help would be apreciated thank you

Can you add a picture of the offending item?

Without knowing which model vehicle and exactly which carb it is, it's hard to offer further advice.

If its a 1.1i then it is unlikely to be a carburettor surely?

the weber central fuel injection unit is nothing more than an electronic carb

my money is on the black cap being the dust cover fitted to the schreader valve used for checking fuel pressure.
