i have a ford focus 1.8 diesel which seems to have an intermitent fault starts well from cold i travel 18 miles to work then turbo seems not to work will still go but loses its punch stop to get newspaper start back up all the punch returns car has done 113 thousand miles try cleaning injectors new air filter etc still occurs any ideas could it be turbo? as it does not always happen or am i missing the obvious any sensors i could check? please help!!!

Had similar on wifes c-max turbo diesel. Turned out to be the MAP sensor getting gunked up. Dealer cleaned it up and all was well. Happens quite a bit and I do it myself these days as it's such a quick job. If you want to have a go you'll find it sitting in the airflow meter near the airbox. Crack the pipes off and you'll see the sensor. If it's like ours it will be covered in oily diesel. Bit of kitchen roll and white spirit does the trick but gently does it. I'm no mechanic BTW but it works for us.
