I wonder if anyone on here has a current ford with either the Visteon 6000cd or the Sony single disc audio head unit with the additional AUX in socket?

Cars could be: Mondeo,Focus or Fiesta

If so, whats the audio quality like when using an MP3 player...preferably an ipod.

My Focus sounds dire with the ipod connected to the car's AUX jack and the quality doesn't cange if I use the headphone out or the docking connector.

Audio from both outlets outside of the car are OK, so i'm pretty sure it's a problem in the AUX circuit.

Is it a sony unit ? using direct audio transfer with phone kits and they sound bloody awfull tinny and distorted , however the normal 6000cd sounds fine , have you tried lowering the volume on the i pod and compensating with the hu ? also is the eq on the i pod set flat ? using the ipods eq causes distortion

Hi m8

I have the Visteon 6000 CD (the ford one) and the ipod audio sounds crap!

No bass, vocals sound like they have an echo and the overall sound of the track is akin to an old walkman with almost flat batteries.

The EQ on the pod is on the off/flat setting.

I have a bluetooth phone kit to fit in it next week, i'm hoping the audio on that is going to sound better than the excuse of an aux in.

was that on the 6000 series CD?

After the car has been pdi'd you can't replace the audio unit, they have to go to visteon for repair
