Gas gobbling fiesta

Help my wife has just brought a fiesta 1.25 16v on an 06 plate done 4000 miles we can only get 38 mpg at best 32 around town is this right they quote 60 mpg at best and 48 mpg for town work i know they get there figures in perfect conditions but i thought it would be better than that. Is anyone else getting better than this please let me know many thanks

needs a few more miles to loosen up ireckon my vauxhall lectra was doing around 32 mpg untill the 8k mark , now its on 13k im getting 40-43

I thought she was driving with lead boots on so she told me to check the computer there it was avarage speed 21 mph oh well, it needs a service soon now on 8200 miles so i will see what ford has to say many thanks

4200miles in a day! That's impressive!!

If she's only averaging 21mph, then 32mpg isn't bad. Not much point in contacting Ford for that, the figures quoted are done to Government tests and they'll just quote that back at you.
