Hi
Whilst replacing the cat on my 03' Focus last night i removed what i thought was a clamp to access a bolt head. However this turned out ot be a aircon blanking plug, gas started to spurt out causing me to panic, (I was in the pit in my garage at the time) when i realised (About 10 seconds later) what i'd done i tightend the blanking plug up and cleaned the mess up. The system is probably due a re-charge soon but am i likily to do any damage using the system in the mean time.
Briefly tried the system this morning and was still feeding ice-cold air so there is still some gas in the system.
Regards
Chris

when the gas pressure gets too low, the low pressure switch will stop the A/C clutch from engaging.
If you can see the compressor cut in and the A/C is chilling, then you still have enough gas/lubricant in the system but a service won't do it any harm to put it back where it should be.
