Hi All,

I've got a £4k limit and the Mondeo TDCI fits in ! They are going to high'ish mileage...90k+.

what should I look for?
Is the 130bhp vast different from the 115 ?
Which ones have the sports type seats ?

Any help much appreciated.

SNAP.

Looking for similar myself, needs to be estate though. Ideally looking for a 130 in Zetec trim.

Looking around looks like a 85k example should be achievable for that sort of money.

Should be:

LX
Zetec
Ghia
Ghia X

Zetec is the "sporty" version of an LX, ie you get alloys and probably full body colour bumpers. LX might come with things such as electric mirrors which the Zetec doesnt.

Pretty sure GHIA doesnt have leather as Std, whereas GHIA X does.

HTH

Agree with LX-Zetec-Ghia-Ghia X.

However my dad had Focus Lx and i have Zetec and mine is better equiped, i have electric mirrors, heated front screen, allows and CD, all he has is a set of 14" steelie's with steeltrims on.

Must be some varitation within the model range.

For the Fiesta's, a Zetec is a sporty LX, but without elec mirrors, alarm and sunroof. (at least it was something like that when I bought mine).

Can't argue with that, not sure what options mine had from new as it was a Ford managers car before i got it.

If it's any help, My 02 Mondeo 130 Zetec has alloys, heated electric mirrors, heated screen, air con, and the seats have decent bolsters. I wouldn't bother with a higher spec level, although a sunroof would be nice.

Spec does vary quite a bit over time, as there is a constant process of reviewing the model spec.

For example an 01 Zetec may be the same spec as an 02 LX...

2001: TDCi common-rail turbodiesel unit introduced, producing 128bhp. Old 2.0 Di renamed TDDi. Estate arrives.

It has the TDCi badge on the boot, must be a very early one.
