Looks like a Focus estate on steroids.
I agree. Although you can see similarities with the iosis concept

They've tried to make it all macho and the best engine they've got for it is the 220hp 2.5 turbo. That is fine in a Focus but in a car the size of a Mondeo estate it's pathetic! And even worse, the base model will have a 1.6! Basically the car is just so GAY compared to the current and previous models!

Uh... not really - all the current and previous models have used 1.6's as their base models. They haven't announced any V6 models yet, but that doesn't mean they're not going to make it. In any case, I would hardly describe the Focus ST engine as pathetic - even in a Mondeo estate it'll still get it shifting. After all, the current fastest in the Mondeo range is the 220bhp ST220. Gay compared to the current and previous models? Frankly, I don't see it as being any better or worse as far as the engine lineup is concerned.
That said, what a looker! I absolutely love the looks of this thing, and that's rare with modern family-size cars. A breath of fresh air!
The engine lineup is the launch lineup I'm sure. I suspect it'll be a year or so before the full-fat ST makes an appearance; I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 270 BHP or more, with a four wheel drive system to harness it. I can't imagine Ford wanting the likes of Vauxhall upstaging them. The obvious thing to do is stick the V70 R/S60 R engine in it. Of course, if we're dreaming, then the Yamaha developed 4.4 V8 that Volvo are putting in the XC-90 would be splendid
it might look familiar, but it's not what you'll be able to buy straight out of the show room.
Although the car is mostly production spec, the front and rear sporty bits are off the ST and that won't be out for about 15 months after job 1
If think full production of 4/5 door starts in feb and estate in march, ready for a june release, but not all model trims will launch from day 1
The pictures of the dash and instrument panel that have been doing the rounds are what will be used, and that spec IP will find it's way into Galaxy and S-max too.
I have been informed that there will be NO 4x4 option too

The current ST220 is putting too much torque through the front wheels, IMHO. I dread to think how they'll manage to stick 250 BHP from that turbo straight-six through the fronts without hobbling it to the point of being, well, pointless.
I did a phone install on a galaxy a few days ago and if the mondeo is as well screwed together as that its got the passat licked on the quality front easily, and for dial light up lovers the new dash is red on the console and pure white dials , very classy like the audi , If ford carry on the way they are going a lot of premium brands are going to feel the boot of ford up thier arses , they are making leaps and bounds now on other fronts as well as the top class handling , the biggest problem though is going to be getting the badge snobs to see the transformation which there is . the one thing ford needs to sort is the performance side of things , a few RS models and a Cosworth wouldnt go amiss . would help ford a lot i reckon .
