M reg fiesta help please

Hi, im hoping someone on here may be able to shed some light for me, this is for a mate, so i dont have access to the car.

here goes,

its an M reg fiesta 1.3 HCS with CFI, the car just stopped the other day, the AA said it was an ignition failure, when i looked at the car tonight, i see the fuel is pumping fine, and the injector is spraying fuel during turnover, so that side is fine, but there dont seem to be a spark, on closer looking, the 3 wires going into the throttle position sensor has coroded the sheaf and all 3 wires are touching, obviously i can see this is wrong, but these wires touching like this, what could they have damaged???? is it just a case of fitting new sensor?? i disconected the sensor, but still no spark.

any help would be really appricated.
