Fuel Sender Resistance

Don't suppose anyone knows the resistance range of a standard Cortina fuel sender do they, and are they linear or log scale ?

I'm building a digidash for my kit car, and unfrotunatly the sender's in the tank submerged in petrol, so I don't much fancy pulling it out to waggle it around
