The windscreen de-mister on my 1 month old mk2 TDCI Focus is pathetic. My old mk1 cleared the screen in a few seconds. What gives?

Try using the air con instead. That clears the misting from the inside pretty quickly...

The heated screen on mine seems to work fine, if anything better than it did on my mk1. Maybe you've got a fault with yours?

Paul.

Use the air con then , and obviously as you havent got heated screen expect it to take longer on cold days .

The thing is, the old focus demisted in seconds, without using AC or heated screen. Surely a step backwards?

The old focus automatically switches on the air-con when the heater dial is on windscreen setting. TBH I find this quite annoying as sometimes I don't want it to. The new one may not do this, obviously if the windscreen clears much quicker with the air-con on then you know if this is true.

How do you have the dials set? ie fan speed, direction, temperature?

Make sure you haven't got recirc switched on.... biggest cause of misting issues. Also make sure the air extraction vents (behind boot trim aren't blocked up with any stuff you may chose to carry in the boot/trim area).

OK. Where exactly are the vents?
