Focus 1.8 / 2.0 16v Zetec

I'm looking at either of these 2 to replace my ageing Corsa chav-mobile. Budget is up to approx £6K & having a hunt around some of the classifieds it seems decent '02 (ish) ones are aplenty.
I kinda like the idea of a bigger engine (ie: the 2L), but is there really much of a difference?
Ideally I'd like climate control/air con along with lots of goodies as standard (which seems pretty much the norm with these), but I'm not after any engine or suspension mods.

Any advice / experience

I never thought I'd say this but we test drove 2.0 Focus and 1.8TDCI Focus and I'd say go for the diesel, it's much quicker in real world driving and will give you 15mpg more at least.
