Reverse

My ickle Festa seems to be having a bit of trouble going into reverse, sometimes it takes lifting the clutch completely up and then putting it in again, other times and it seems to be happening more frequently now it takes 3 or 4 attempts of lifting the cluth up then back down and trying the gear again. Anyone got any ideas.

Its an 04 1.25 LX

Ah now i seem to have this on my Ka too! Apparently (i'll have to consult the manual to confirm) it's a safety device to prevent the driver from accidently putting in reverse when not supposed to be (or something!). Basically i think the Ford system involves you having to depress the clutch for about 3 secs and then just putting it in! Try it and see!

Get the same problem wif the 06 Focus. Seems if you keep clutch up just a bit and dont put it all the way down it lets you engage Reverse. Seems its summat to do wif if you engage neutral while car is going X speed and wheel is turned Y degrees u no the safety crap.
