Sierra gearbox oil leak
Discussion
Hello all, hope someone can help, please. I have a tvr S2 powered by a Ford Sierra/Granada 2.9 litre V6, now I recently replaced a propshaft u/j and after fitting the propshaft, oil is dripping from the gearbox where the propshaft connects. Could this be a dry or damaged seal? is there a way to cure it? thanks for any advice, cheers.

this is the old type 9 box?
If so, you've probably been a little harsh when sliding the prop back onto the output shaft splines and have damaged the seal.
It was easy to either split the seal or knock the spring off on the inside of it.
A new seal is the best course of action i think
