Fiesta 1.25 Zetec revving up

My daughters friend has a 99 1.25 Fiesta, when the car is warm the engine idles at around 3000rpm, it sometimes drops down to 1500rpm but rather slowly,also when you try and give it 3/4 or full throttle it stutters a fair bit then goes, if you know what i mean, i had a drive/look last night and thought i would ask the masses Air flow sensor near the throttle body??????????

Air flow sensor or it might be the coil pack breaking down.
Air flow sensors are a bit prone to trouble on those, you may be able to just give it a clean to get it sorted.
It's also worth disconnecting the battery overnight so that the ecu clears and then connect it all back up and see if that sorts it.
