Since the hot weather has arrived, my wifes Fiesta Zetec has started leaving a puddle in the passenger footwell. The puddle doesn't smell of coolant etc so I assume its clean water. Its only really been evident since she has been using the air con lots so im guessing its a blockage in the condensation drain pipe? I doubt it is the usual suspect (pollen filter cover) because it hasn't been raining!

Any suggestions? If it is the condensation drain pipe, any idea how I get to it to clean it out / replace it?

Cheers

it's quite common for the condensate drain pipe on the heater housing to become dislodged from the floor.

If its not too late, then this one I know.
You are quite right, its the air con evacuation tube which is blocked.
Place your hand behind the central console, and you'll find a flexible rubber tube which drops down under the carpet, and through a hole to the outside world under the car.
Just twiddle this tube between your fingers for the whole length of the tube. This should unblock the dead leaves and general gunge.
If I remember correctly, at the top end of the tube the diameter is greater, and then suddenly drops down to about half the size, this is the main suspected blockage area.
I had exactly the same problem, and had to unblock the tube evry year. Its amazing just how quickly the passenger foot well fills up!!

Thanks - I sorted it just after I posted originally. Found the tube in question and attached a high pressure air line to it (so I could leave it in place). Worked a treat.

Thanks for the reply anyway,

Steve
