Is the V6 water pump a problem on a mk3 Mondeo?

I know that the engine in the mk2 Mondeo suffers from the infamouse water pump problem, but would the pump in a 2003 mk3 need doing as well?

If its the same as my boys and you are getting temp guage fluctuations change the blooming thing cos my lad turned his into a v5 (conrod out the back of the block) when we striped the water pump it had a plastic impeler which was split !!!it was still on the shaft which is why I could see water circulating before it destroyed itself. for your info buy a factor replacement which has a steel impeler.

yep the mk3 has a plastic water pump .
