Hi, I've just bought a 1996 fiesta 1.25 si as a run around for my girlfriend. It's only done 33000 miles but has no service history. I am trying to get hold of the service schedule (what's supposed to be done when) so that I can work out whether to give it a thorough service myself or pay someone to do it but can't find one on the net. Also, does anyone know of a good ford specialist in the Sale/South Manchester area that would do the above and give it a general once over for a reasonable price? With so many cowboys around these days a recommendation would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dan

Maybe (when it was new) it was serviced at Ford. I'm not sure if this can be done as its now 10 years old but you could call Ford (HQ?) and at least get a copy of some of its service history.

Hi Dan

On my Fiesta I simple change the oil every 7-8kmiles and the oil filter every other oil change. Ford say its a 10K service interval but I always find the oil seems to be going around 7K. As for other things such as air filter and plugs, just do them when needed. They really dont need much work to keep the old girls running , espeicially as yours is such low mileage! Mines done over 100k and over 10k since I got it just after xmas, all I've done is oil/filter and air filter. Although I would recommend checking the timing belt tensioners, this came loose on my car causing the timing to jump and my valaves got a little too friendly with the pistons .
Cheers!
