A quick question for any forumites who own a Mondeo ST220. I love the car but the low down torque feels pretty average. I know Milltek do an exhaust, K&N do an intake, and you can get Bluefin for it. However, I wanted to hear from people who have actually fitted these mods before I stump up any cash. I've seen at least one report from another forum where a chap thought his 220 was better without Bluefin.

Mm I was surprised by this, I expected more low down grunt.
My boss's old X-Type 3.0l was similar, more power but you still needed to rev it quite hard to get at any of it.

I have the Bluefin and K&N on mine and have found it
to be a slight improvement over standard. The K&N sounds
a lot better under acceleration too.Going to be fitting
a blueflame sports exhaust this week so I will let you know
how it goes.If you want more power TVR Craft do a polish and
port job and de-cat on the car (280bhp) for about 3k and a
Supercharged version (330-350bhp) for around 5k.
I may go for this option in the summer as the size and practicality
of the car suit my needs at the moment but having come from the Tuscan
I would like a bit more grunt.

Col
P.S. Supercharged option includes intercooler.

Crikey! Supercharger? That's the first I've heard of a supercharger conversion. Do you have a URL for them?

Thanks for the info. To be honest, I think it would be foolhardy to spend a lot on modifications (ie: supercharger). However, it seems like the benefits from other mods are minimal, although the mods do look fairly cheap.

Please do let us know what your exhaust is like too! A video/sound clip would be splendid

Had the exhaust done at Blueflame yesterday and it seems
to have a made the engine a lot more free revving and has
given the car a nice deeper sound and rumble on tickover
without spoiling the quietness of the car at motorway speeds.

It was fitted at the Blueflame factory in Skelmersdale,
about 5 mins from the M6.

The reflector is off the 2006 ST220.
I have the one for the other side on order but Ford
can't get hold of them at the moment.I replaced all the
front grills with the new version and the tops of the door
trims too.

I *really* like ST220s, but my heart is elsewhere in that photo...

Doesn't the Escort look huge there? The Mk3 Mondeo is a big motor, and the Mk2 Escorts are tiny by todays standards but in that photo they look nearly the same size! How odd.

I believe Milltek also so an exhaust system for the ST220. I'm currently looking at a few mods for mine. Anyone seen or heard anything on Millteks?
