I've just changed my '98 Cougar V6 to an '01 Focus 1.6 Zetec 3 door in panther black. It (the Focus)has full leather, alloys as standard etc... Main reason being, the Cougar was a bit juicy..and handled orrible in bends. Fine in a straight line though.
Focus(Focii?) have a reputation for handling well...that appeals.

The focus does indeed handle very well, I had a T reg 1.6 Zetec and I have to say I was impressed with it, it never failed to bring a smile to my face when i threw it around the bends, I now own an 03 plate Focus ST170 the focus is a great all rounder in my opinion, but I am biased as it is the only car I have ever really known (I learnt to drive in one), apart from the K reg 1.6L Mondeo I bought off my dad for £200 as my first car!

The Ford Focus id one of the best handling cars for its price i have ever driven.
I own a 1.8 and wouldnt change it for anything at the moment (bar a RS or ST170!)

I would love an RS... But then I would also love a mint Escort Cossie.

So handling on a Cougar is poor then? Just wondered as they LOOK quite nice cars.
