Hi...im worried about my KA.

Its an S Reg Ka bought from new and i dont know what is up with it.

It's got the tappets making a noise i know that one. And ill hopefully get that fixed asap.

But whenever i go over some kind of speed bump, it creaks and squeaks like i dont know what. The sound seems to be coming from the drivers seat side.

Also when i've been driving on the motorway for a while and i slow down (for example coming off at a junction and waiting for the light to change to go) i see lots of smoke-like stuff coming from underneath the bonnet. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

P.s. I'm not very good with the whole engine parts names or whatever so i wouldnt be able to tell you much more!

The creaking could be a dry or hardened bush on the suspension and the smoke could be anything, possibly an oil leak. Have you looked under the bonnet to see where the smoke is coming from? Check for oil in the engine bay or near the exhaust.

see the thing is whenever its taken to the garage they just say that there is nothing wrong with the suspension, when there obviously is.

Just recently the water pump went and that got replaced but they never said anything about anything else!

my boyfriend told me something but i cant think what! he said it smelt plastic-like but i cant remember where he said it was from!!

im really not good with parts and stuff so sorry if im not clearer

A creaking suspension doesn't necessarily mean there is anything wrong with it. The rubber in the bushes can dry out and get a bit hard which can cause it to creak, you should really get the burning sorted though. As for the garage saying there's nothing wrong with the suspension, would you rather they charge you a lot of money for doing nothing, or them being honest?
