Help - Mondeo wont start!
Discussion
Hi all, 1st forum post for me.
Me and my old man were all prepared to go to the historic motorsport show. We jump in his 2 litre zetec mondeo, (2001) turn the key......and turns over as normal, but will not fire. Engine spins over fine but will not catch. Any ideas please? Im assuming its a fuelling problem, is there a fuel pump reset switch at all? Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved!
Cheers

All Fords in the U.S. have an inertia shut off switch (not sure about European Fords) that can be tripped by a bang on the bumper or rear wing. It controls the fuel pump (shuts it off in case of accident) they are usually found in the boot on the inner wing.
Might be worth a check.
Here is a good description of it from a Ford Ranger pick-up website:

Edit: Another option would be that the crank position sensor has died. If the CKP goes out while driving the vehicle will continue to run, however once turned off it will not re-start as the ECU has nothing to time spark and injection with.
