What does it mean for a us car to be SVA?
Discussion
The "SVA" is the Department of Transport's Single Vehicle Approval test. Most cars sold in the UK are "type approved" which means that model has gone through all the relevant crash tests, etc... Low volume cars, kit cars and imported cars are not type approved, and must therefore go through the SVA test to prove their roadworthiness.
For stuff like the Mustang, minor mods must be completed before the SVA to make it road legal for the UK. IIRC, the reversing lights and fog lights need to be altered.

See www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/publications/sva%20draft%20manual.pdf - for US cars it usually comes down to (1) rear fog light (2) side indicator repeaters (3) amber rear turn indicators instead of red (4) realign headlamps (5) tyre ratings, cost around £200-£500
