The clutch on my Puma has just started slipping at 48000 miles. This seems a bit low milage for this to happen so I got in touch with a few garages who have told me that the slave cylinder in the bell housing sometimes breaks and leaks fluid onto the friction plates causing it to slip. What a major pita! The quote I got for the work comes to £382!

Has anyone else experienced this? ...or know of a decent clutch place in Guildford?

Thanks.

yes twice. Once at 40ish, again at 80ish. :-(

Unfortunate fact of life where puma ownership is concerned - at least that was my experience.

Cheers Mab. Seems I'll have to bite the bullet and get it done then.

drive carefully , yeah you have clutch slip

to test clucth damage , put car in fourth then stamp on gas , the revs will rise but no speed

or try putting car in fourth gear let cluctch up slowly with no gas, if car dont stall at biting point the clutch is on way out

I drove around for 2 month , whilst clutch slipping , but best drive carefully to minimise damage to flywheel
