I'm getting Error Code E3 on my 03 Mondeo 6006E Radio/CD player.

Don't have the Radio manual....

There's 2 CDs in it at the moment, and makes a horrible BZZZZZZZZTing noise when it trys to switch between them. Won't eject them.

Anyone help? Is there an easy fix or do I take a sledgehammer to it?

Ta.

Here's the text from the Ford Manual:-

E3

Mechanical Error

PRESS and HOLD the LOAD and EJECT buttons simutaneously. WAIT until the audio unit has checked through the CDs currently in the unit. TEST the system for normal operation. If the concern persists, DISCONNECT the audio unit power connector. WAIT 20 seconds and then CONNECT the audio unit power connector. WAIT until the audio unit has checked through the CDs currently in the unit. TEST the system for normal operation. If the error code is still displayed, INSTALL a new audio unit. TEST the system for normal operation.

Yeah, I'm finding that out!

Didn't work, so rather than mess about with it I took it off to a Main Dealer. Seems it's developed an internal fault so it's off for repair. The little arm that switches discs is kaput.

Bad news is here in Rep of Rip Off Ireland there's only a two year warranty on brand new Mondeos. Good news is I got it in England where it has a three year warranty.

We'll see.
