Focus ST

I have been looking at the Golf GTI recently and as I trawled the internet sites I came across the Focus ST at simply amazing prices. Just over £16K for the ST-3 in 5 doors. They are allegedly UK cars from UK dealers with full UK warranties.

Whilst this sounds like an offer too good to be true what impact will this have on resale. The Golf price is holding up really well and the cheapest I can find brand new is just over £19K.

The hitch with those web sites is that the fleet company they buy the cars from hold onto the V5 for 6 months. Therefore you will be second owner on the log book.

Does that bother me?

No, and that's why I have an ST on order saving £4k off list.

Whereabouts was that from? My usual brokers aren't getting prices down that far alas, and for £13.5 for a base ST you really are getting fantastic value.

Since my original post the price has gone up because dealers are getting full price in the showrooms so broker discounts aren't as high as expected.

UK Car Broker is now around £2-2.5 off list

I've ordered an ST3 this week with almost £3k off list and there are still places advertising £3.5 off.

Not sure of the rules round here in terms of posting links that may be considered advertising but googling "focus st + deal" will point you in the right direction.

I've been quoted an 8-12 week delivery - more likely to be end of Feb/early March but I am also having a friendly exchange of emails with my local main dealer who seems convinced the net retailers will not be able to supply the cars due to showroom demand - for the saving I'm prepared to wait to find out!
