does anyone know how easy it is to changed a Heating control flap motor in a cougar, as Ford are charging the earth for the part and to change it.

You will probably have to remove the dashboard and maybe the whole heater to replace it. If your not confident in doing that let your dealer sort it.

Thanks for all your advice. I bought a Ford service/repair software for my car and tells me how to replace the part.

Yes I do have to remove the dash board as it's suituated with the heating matrix. Seems easy enough to do from the instructions and I got the part cheap from a brokers yeard.
