escort van battery light
Discussion
How old's the Escort m8?
Is it pre digital mileage display?
If so, look for the pale blue cable on the Alternator IND terminal, they've been know to suffer from poor connection quality where the cable goes into the terminal.
That same cable is also common for chaffing against the radiator support panel.
I would disconnect the terminal from the Alt and earth it out. If the light goes bright (normal) the connection was at fault. If it remains dim test the earth condition of the altenator to engine and the engine back to the battery.
And test the V+ supply down the cable, trace it back along from the alt, along the radiator, if it's a diesel the cable goes to a 1 pin plug in the lower left of the RAD, that gets cruddy too.
Hope some of that helps
