Driving an old focus st.... should I be, I'm to bloody old for a start having something like this but I think I'm going to attract attention that I just don't need or want.

I got it in a whim and now regret it. We all know the reputation they have so just what the hell possessed me to get one god knows.

It's causing me anxiety when driving it...I guess it's me, just to old and paranoid as I say.

I'm also wary leaving it when out therefore what's the bloody point in having it as i can't enjoy it.

Did anyone else have a car that did that to them.

What's the reputation? I see plenty of STs out and about, don't look twice at them

Yeah, you’re overthinking this. Is it the 5cyl one? They’re pretty subtle IMO and, as said, few would look twice, especially if it’s standard.

Surely there's nothing stopping you selling it if you're not happy?

I think I will, it was a bloody stupid thing to do especially when I don't like folk looking at me. It's standard yes but I've noticed young uns watching me go by as they know the engine sound. I know I did they same when I was younger but society especially now is just bad and would steal the steam of yer st.

I do think you're over-thinking it all though.

It is a (your words) "old Focus ST" not a Golf R or a Range Rover. It's desirability in terms of being stolen is pretty low.

And it surely doesn't attract that much attention?

You're over-thinking it

I'm not sure that's true. Golf R yes. Old Focus? No. If its standard no one will look twice.

I do get a few glances but it's the engine note that's all. And with st mpg that's hopefully enough to put them off.

I bought a fiesta st middle of last year with loud exhaust..idea was we track toy but just found myself hooning about and getting attention from youngsters wanting to race.

Needless to say was sold on after a brief 3 month ownership

Unfortunately I've known a person loose their Focus ST mk3 last year. He lives in Kent and it was stolen in Luton or Leeds whilst stopping off to do some shopping.
Police did a little investigation and noticed the car was being followed before its take.

It sucks as even I would like something sportier or luxurious as I spend alot of time commuting all over the place but its just not worth it.
