2024.5 Focus ST Estate?
Discussion
Just sorting out a second car, mainly for Mrs Me who doesn't really like driving my Abarth 124 Spider.
I will, however, be doing driving duties on the longer runs when we need to take people and/or crap with us, so I'll be driving it quite a bit too and hence wanted something sportier.
SUVs? Don't go there.
So we like the Cupra Leon Estate but couldn't do a deal in time to get one in the colour we wanted.
We liked the Audi S3 but the saloon is around £48,000 OTR. That means an additional £2000 in VED over its initial few years.
So what about a new Focus ST Estate, maybe with one or two extras but creeping in at just under £40,000?
Anything gotchas before I pull the trigger for a cash purchase?

I was going to help but you used that phrase at the end so I'm out. I will, however, be doing driving duties on the longer runs when we need to take people and/or crap with us, so I'll be driving it quite a bit too and hence wanted something sportier.

Bit late but I've got a 2023 Focus ST Estate in mean green, was an ex-Ford managers car so got almost every extra on it (head-up display, Blind-spot sensors, pano roof etc. I've only had it since April but one concern, which seems to pop up on the 'Mk4/4.5 Focus ST' facebook group quite regularly, is the battery doesn't seem to be up to the job so keep an eye on that.
Other niggles are door rattles and the B&O speaker system is a bit of a con, the speakers in all 4 doors are just standard Ford stuff, it's only the sub in the boot and the speaker in the middle of the dash that's B&O, so the stereo isn't that great.
Mine went into a local Ford main dealer for it's first service last week, I believe oil & filter only, and it was £238 which seems a bit OTT.

Did you take delivery? How you getting on with it?
Yes we've had it for a short while now - see https://focus-st.uk - and the mileage is now up to 1,169 miles.Just trying to work out what the round grey dot on the dash means and how to turn on the front foglights...
I asked Ford UK how you turn on the front fog lights.
They've just replied:
"Thank you for your email.
"We would recommend contacting your local Ford Dealer’s Service department as they would be best equipped to assist you with this matter. You can find the contact details for your local branch, using our Dealer locator function..."
Not exactly helpful, eh?
