Hi All.
My son recently purchased a 2018 Mk4 Focus ST in February.
One owner from new from TC Harrison.
He thinks the engine is noisy.
Is it supposed to be noisy on tick over or quiet.
Not sure what they should sound like.
Also, it’s getting hot when he drives it.
Thanks for any replies.

[quote=EmailAddress]Might be worth asking on the Ford forums.

They can be a bit noisy at cold but I'd not expect it to run too hot without trying to push it hard.

Thanks for the reply, we are going to put the stock intercooler back on, phone ford on Monday to book it in.

Warranty until August, so should cost anything if serious issue.

Shouldn’t cost anything I meant.

Oil was below minimum, hopefully that’s all it was.

Standard, but with a modified intercooler?

2018 would be last of the mk3s rather than mk4?

From my experience they have a bit of a disconcerting chain rattle/noise but it is normal if that's what you mean. It shouldn't run hot though.
