Spec is ace for a small car, are the seats supportive? They look less so than the likes of the ST, or even the mainstream non leather which have robust bolsters. Seats are important with aged knackered backs!

And MHEV or not? It's been out a few years, the earlier car (pre 2020) has just the simple eco boost (and a sunroof as standard), the Vignale Edition as it became seems to lose the roof and get the extra battery up front.

Use would be mainly town where it doesn't run on hybrid (battery)alone, and the odd long run, so I'm guessing there's an extra system to go wrong if taking the HEV, any experience/ can anyone compare bother engine choices and any experience of the spec?

A mild hybrid is a marketeers wet dream. It's a chicken korma. Not a proper curry.

The motor just aids the engine. It reduces Co2 by a few grams but makes no difference to anybody else.

Indeed, but post some time in 2020 you don't seem to get a choice! Added battery if you like it or not!

My daughter has a 69 plate , as you say very well equiped,( hers has led headlights , panoramic roof, larger wheels ) only issue we’ve had are the switches for the windows which must be brittle & have been replaced but have broken already ( strange as not had it with other fords ) , I find the gear shift spongy, or not a positive shift up to my wife’s 66 plate st fiesta .
Daughter likes it , but still misses her st ( only changed as st was broken into x 2

Daughters st , only changed for vignale as was broken into twice , if not for neighbours no doubt would of been gone , she does like the vignale but it just isn’t a st , said if wife ever decides to change hers she will have it for the garage ( when she gets a house with a garage ) .
